The OPPO Reno8 series 5G is coming to Malaysia soon but local set remains unknown
We have always known this but OPPO Malaysia has finally confirmed that the OPPO Reno8 series 5G will be arriving here soon. It was initially launched in China first (as usual) towards the end of May and took the company long enough to import the latest mid-range series.
While there’s no date for the launch yet, one of the highlights that we can look forward to is that the Reno8 series 5G will have the MariSilicon X NPU. It’s OPPO’s first-ever Imaging NPU that first made its debut on the OPPO Find X5 Pro 5G that enhances low-light portrait photography which impressed us a lot. You can check out our review of the photo quality here.
Besides the MariSilicon X NPU, the Reno8 series should have the same tech specs as the China set. In the Chinese market, the Reno8 and Reno 8 Pro features a MediaTek Dimensity 1300 and Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset respectively. There’s also a Pro+ variant with a Dimensity 8100-Max chipset and all three devices support up to 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage and a 4500mAh supporting 80W fast charging technology.
On the other hand, both the Reno8 and Reno8 Pro have the same 6.43-inch display but the Reno8 Pro+ has the privilege of a 6.7-inch AMOLED display. In addition, all three smartphones have the same 32MP selfie snapper, 50MP primary + 2MP + 2MP triple rear camera whereas the pro variants have an 8MP ultrawide lens.
There’s no telling which model is OPPO Malaysia planning to import so until then, we will just have to wait and see. If you’re interested in the phone, you can . Or simply stay tuned to our news coverage only at TechNave.com.
